The study looked at all 50 states and the District of Columbia and ranked them based on six key measures of educational attainment: 1) quality of education, 2) affordability, 3) opportunities, 4) quality of schools, 5) student-teacher ratio, and 6) literacy rate.Virginia ranked sixth overall, thanks in part to its high rankings for quality of education and opportunities. It also ranked highly for affordability and quality of schools. The only measure where Virginia ranked outside of the top 10 was the student-teacher ratio, which came in at 23rd.
